Daniel was born aboard the ship Liberty in l849. Daniel married his second cousin, Mary Jane McCurdy in the l870's. Daniel and Mary Jane had a family of five and lived on Lot 7, Conc. 1. Mary Jane died at age 39, and Daniel moved his family to Loreburn, Saskatchewan where he remarried. In 1911 Daniel died of food poisoning and his widow returned to Ontario. Children were Isabella (m. Malcolm MacCullum of Winnipeg 5 children), Roseanna, (m. Art Hutchings, Winnipeg, 1 daughter.) Daniel (married Mary Rebecca Smith, 8 children) Margaret Jane (m. Clayton Eugene Colburn, 4 children) and William John (m. May Ford, 7 children).
